Dr Swaminathan is a Specialist Physician and Geriatrician with a diverse and extensive background in various medical disciplines. With a wealth of experience acquired from Monash Health and Barwon Health, Dr Swaminathan has profound experience in geriatric medicine, general medicine, intensive care, cardiology, and perioperative medicine.

He currently holds positions at Latrobe Regional Health, Mulgrave Private Hospital, and St. John of God (Berwick) as a geriatrician, peri-operative physician, general medicine physician. He is also involved in Acute Pain Service. He is also an adjunct senior lecturer in clinical medicine at Monash University.

He has expertise in the management of dementias and behavioural symptoms, capacity assessment in the setting of dementia, comprehensive geriatric assessment, geriatric cardiology, perioperative risk assessment and delirium management, falls risk reduction, incontinence, acute and chronic pain in the elderly and integrated care of multi-morbidity.

Dr Swaminathan is a fellow of Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and a member of Australian and New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM).
