Rebecca is a Consultant Neurologist who began her medical training with a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne in 2006, followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with Honours in 2011. She completed specialist training in Neurology at Austin Health and St Vincent’s Hospital, before undertaking fellowships in both Movement Disorders and Stroke at St Vincent’s Hospital.
Rebecca continues to hold public appointments at St Vincent’s Hospital as a Consultant Neurologist in both Movement Disorders and Stroke. She is also a Consultant Neurologist with the Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease Service (SPNDS).
She takes a holistic, patient-centred approach to care and is dedicated to improving the health and quality of life of adults across all ages.
Her clinical expertise spans the breadth of general neurology, with particular expertise in Movement Disorders, Migraine and Stroke. She has extensive experience in the management of Parkinson’s disease, including advanced therapies such as subcutaneous apomorphine, subcutaneous levodopa (Vyalev) and intestinal levodopa–carbidopa therapy. She also has specialist expertise in migraine management, including botulinum toxin therapy and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP)-targeted treatments.
Rebecca is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists (ANZAN), the Movement Disorder Society of Australia and New Zealand (MDSANZ), and the Australian and New Zealand Headache Society (ANZHS).
Her academic achievements include the R.D. Wright Prize in Physiology, the Edgar and Mabel Coles Prize at The Royal Women’s Hospital, and recognition on the MBBS Dean’s Honours List at The University of Melbourne. She has also been awarded a National Heart Foundation Vacation Scholarship and a John Flynn Scholarship.
